Awards
The Activison First Light Movies Awards 2009 takes place on the 17th March 2009 at the Odeon, Leicester Square. Now in its 7th year this annual celebration of young people's film making has firmly established itself as a permanent fixture in the film awards calendar know generally as the 'Mini Oscar's'. Hosted by T4's Miquita Oliver and Rick Edwards this year's Awards will be bigger and better than ever.
The Awards ceremony will be attended by around 1000 guests, comprising of the nominated young filmmakers, young people’s organisations from across the UK, as well as being strongly supported by industry professionals, patrons and celebrities. Previous ceremonies have included Hollywood ‘A’ Listers Kevin Spacey, Imelda Staunton, Orlando Bloom, Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Alan Parker, Sam Mendes, Gurinder Chadha, Michael Winterbottom, Stephen Fry, Daniel Craig, Alan Rickman and Kate Winslet.
